It’s hard to talk about this wedding without feeling like I am shaming every other wedding I’ve been to, but it was truly one of my favorite weddings I have ever photographed. From the Hayley Paige dress to the vows, the fresh greenery to the incredible weather, Amber and Scott’s Market at Grelen wedding was truly perfect (and I don’t use that word lightly). Every time a couple writes their own vow, I expect to hear similar promises that make me smile and anecdotes that mean far more to the couple than I could ever understand. During Amber and Scott’s vows, however, I full on cried. They were sentimental, funny and truly unique. One thing Scott said has stuck with me because it was so great and being someone who loves creative writing I thought, “Wow, that was super poetic.”
He said (as closely as I can remember) – “Amber – when we were dating I always said that the smell of Lowe’s made me think of you. You though it was weird and didn’t know why and neither did I. But I think I know now it’s because even back then I knew I wanted to build a life with you.” OKAY. *applause for Scott*. Amber giggled her way through her own vows which were equally as sweet, and I was so thankful to be a witness.
On top of feeling like the wedding couldn’t have gone better, I was so pleased to get home and see how it translated in their photographs! It was VERY difficult to choose favorites for this blog post, so it may be a little long because, hey, why not?
Congratulations, Amber and Scott. Your wedding was one for the books.
